Issues with empty batches showing on the Series Post screen

We are encountering situations where empty batches being generated by entries processed via Quick Journals are appearing on the "Series Post" screen.  The batches appear to generate after we post an entry via a Quick Journal.  The Quick Journal entry appears to post as expected.

I've been unsuccessful in determining what is causing this to occur as it seems to have started over the past couple of days.  More frustrating is that we cannot figure out a way to remove these from the Series Post screen.  The batches are not visible in the "Batch Recovery" screen which tells us there aren't errors in the batches.  When I try and click on the box to the left of the batch in the Series Post screen I get a messages that says I can't check the box on a batch that doesn't contain any lines.  The batches are empty.

What can I do to remove the empty batches from the Series post screen?

Can't you just click on the checkbox and after you get the error then click on the blue Batch Id link and then delete the batch from that window?

I tried that however when I click on the box I get the message "Bathes containing zero transactions cannot be marked" and it will not allow the check mark to go into the box which in turn means I can access the batch by clicking the blue batch link.  Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately I tried that and it didn't work.

If there truly is no information in them, then you will need to delete via the SQL tables.  You will find the entries in SY00500 table in the company database.

You could first run check link on your open transaction tables. This will correct any incorrect transaction counts per batch. You want to make sure there really is nothing in these batches. Please perform a backup before running check links.
