Hi,
How to add custom filter to the search engine portals.
Regards,
Susritha
Hi partner,
Sorry that we could not apply web template to search engine, the search engine is by design in portal.
I recommend you to raise a ticket or idea to Microsoft about your requirement.

Hi,
I created a web template and got KB articles which has "SSS" value but how to apply it to the search engine
Regards,
Susritha
Hi partner,
Sorry that the default search function does not support such customizations.
If you still want this requirement, you need to create a web template first and use liquid with fetchxml to get the field value of your contact( current user login the portal).
Then you need to create another web template and filter the KB articles by the field and the value you've gotten before in web template1.
Then you will get all the KB articles with special "SSS" that you want and then put these data into a web page to show in the portal.
It is really a hard working with lot of development, and I recommend you could optimize your requirement for better experience.

Leo

Hi partner,
Did you mean you want to filter records by a special field?
If so, still go to the portal search I mentioned before and add this field into it, then you will be able to search records by this field.
For example if I want to filter knowledge articles by description field in portal, I just need to add this field into portal search view.
Best Regards,
Leo
You mean you want to add custom filter to search engine portal. That is, faceted search. Then follow these steps to add faceted search to the portal you use.
Out-of-the-box faceted search is enabled in your portals. To control or enable it, follow these steps:
Open the Portal Management app and go to Portals > Website > Site Settings.
Select the Search/FacetedView site setting.
Change the Value to True to enable or False to disable faceted search.
To disable a single piece of the faceted view:
Open the Portal Management app and go to Portals > Web Templates.
Select the view to disable (that is, Knowledge Management – Top Rated Articles)
Select Deactivate at the top of the page.
Regards.
Hi ,
We are using Employee self service portal. The Custom filter I want to add to search is "Need see only records which has a specific text".

Hi partner,
Are you using D365 portal or Powerapps portal?
If so, we could not add custom filter to search function in portal, it is by design. But you could configure which entity could be found through searching.
Each searchable entity has a view named "Portal Search" in D365, if you don't want this entity be searchable, just delete it.
You could also refer to this blog for more details.
BTW, what's the custom filter do you want to add to search?

Leo
