BOM sales report?

Please excuse me if I'm missing something blatantly obvious, but I can't seem to find something like this. We want to print a report of items sold that have a BOM (kitted item) within a user-defined date range. Is this available in GP 10 or do we have to create a custom report for it?

Thanks for any help.

Is it a KIT item or a BOM item?  (big difference)  And, if it is a BOM, are you using Inventory Assembly transactions or full manufacturing?

The report does not exist natively but can be obtained relatively simply.  I just need to know which you are using to help you.  Do you have SmartList Builder or SSRS, or Crystal?  There is a flag in the Item master that identifies whether the item is a Kit item or not or, if you mean real BOMS if the item is manufactured.  The reporting tools available will determine how to approach this task.

BTW...we just posted a video on our web site about Version 2013 and why you should upgrade.  It is found on our home page.  Take a look at it then call your partner and talk about upgrading.

Thanks for responding Richard. I am being told it is a BOM item and they are using the Inventory Assembly transactions and they build them in the Bill of Materials Maintenance window. If any of that is wrong or unclear, I apologize, because I'm not as familiar with this area of GP.

We don't use Smartlist Builder (but we do use regular Smartlists). I have access to Crystal Reports.

I will check out the video. Thanks.

Ok.  Your explanation is great.  You will need to write a Crystal Report and link the SOP sales items (work or history) to the BOM Header table (BOM00101) by Item Number.  Where there is a match, the sales item has a BOM and those lines are the ones you are looking for.

Use the SOP10200 (work) table for items currently on sales orders.  These are items that may need to be built.

Use the SOP30200 (history) table for items already invoiced to see what was already built.
