The chat widget has very little customisations from the Dynamics 365 Customer Service platform and I would like to know if there is a way where I can place my custom color and border-radius to make more like the look and feel of the website where the chatwidget will be sitting.

You could add "data-color-override" tag to customize the colour of chat widget.
1. Please navigate to Portal Management and switch Code Snippets.
2. Add "data-color-override" tag to the html as the following screenshot shows:
