I am trying to make a custom POS button where a Cashier can press and they can add a serial number of a product ( a hire product ) and then you can review the products that have been sent out when the customer returns the productto ensure its the same product

Is there a way to do this ?

    I believe if you serialize the item when you create and/or receive it the POS should automatically ask for as serial number.

    You could also create a serial number on-the-fly in the POS (you have to check 'Allow POS serial number creation' in file-configuration-options-serial number options in the store manager).

    So I don't think your method is necessary.

    Otherwise I see this as a fairly complex add on.

    By the way, I write add on programs like buttons if that is how you would prefer to do this.
