Active Formula

Hi all,

If I create many formula, I can active only one formula and I still add formula in batch order even it does not active. Who can explain to me mean of active formula.

    It is the current active formula for the product - you can actually have more than one active based upon dates and quantities produced. However the point of having one active is to allow planning to plan if no sub-Forumla is defined on the demand (like the sales line) in which case the system has to try to plan and it uses the active Formula.

    Wow, I got it. BTW, I realize that if I define a sub-formula that is not active and formula line type is pegged supply, a batch order that generate from estimate another batch order, it is have no formula. Do I test right?

    Yes that is correct, no active formula so AX does not know what to do, so you would have a batch order with no Forumula or demand requirements for the components.

    Note that you can activate a general parameter to not be able to change your routes, BOM/formula once it is active.

    Often used to keep a record of old formulas and BOMs, where all versions are kept as history.
