How Credit Limits will work with respect to National Account when i check (Base Credit Check on Consolidated National Account ) check box

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I have 4 customers with credit limits 50 each and have National Customer with credit Limit 800.Now I have Checked the Checkbox (Base Credit Check on Consolidated National Account ) in National Accounts window.

Now I want to know how credit limit will effect to Parent or Childs?

Let child customers be C1-50,C2-50,C3-50,C4-50 and parent customer be p1-800

so what will be credit limits of each customer(child, parent)  after check box check box in National Account and how it is calculated?

Please provide any good resources to learn more about GP as I am new to GP.

Also How (Base Finance Charge on Consolidate National Account) will work ?

Thanks

Sandeep K

    Sandeep,

The most meaningful way to test this feature would be a test company.  Here is a link to a Knowledge Base article on creating a copy of your live company as a test company. You will notice in my signature I encourage folks to test solutions before implementing them, it is a case of an "ounce of prevention being worth a pound of cure." Some scenarios, not this one, require a complete test system, because some settings are maintained at the system or DYNAMICS database level. In these cases you can copy a physical machine to a virtual one using Virtual Machine tools. support.microsoft.com/.../871973

    Sandeep -

Welcome to the GP community. The answer to your functional questions are as follows:

Base Credit Check on Consolidated National Account

Mark to base credit checks on the Parent Customer ID's credit limits. If you mark this option, the current balance (used to compare to the credit limit) is the sum of the parent customer balance and all the child customer balances.

If unmarked, credit checks will be performed on either the parent or child, depending on the customer a transaction is being entered for.

Base Finance Charge on Consolidated National Account

Mark to assess finance charges against the parent using consolidated balances from all customers associated with the national account.

If unmarked, finance changes will be assessed against each customer individually.

This information is direct from Dynamics GP documentation with slight editing to clarify the functions, which brings me to your final question. Please provide any good resources to learn more about GP. First, within GP you can gather a lot of information about a window by selecting Help > About this window.
