Hi!

Is there a way to hide a view in advance find, system entity view etc.. BUT will the view be used to one of the subgrids? Client doesn't want to many views and they just requested a particular view in a subgrid.

    Hi ,

You can not hide public views from advanced find with supported way , however if you want to restrict data you can use field level security or use retrieve multiple plugin.

See here my blog , you will get idea from here -

    Hello,

You can desactivate the system views from the customization. This way, it will not be displayed in the list of views, whether in advanced find, main entity, or in the sub-grid.

As for the sub-grid, you can choose which views can be selected by the user, and this is configured also in the customizations of the form entity. In the sub-grid section, double click the sub-grid component, and check the selected views.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Goutam,Charles,

    Thanks for the feedback!

Unfortunately client wanted to remove a column in an existing view JUST FOR A PARTICULAR subgird view. I can't just remove this column since this view is being utilized in other areas (system view, advance find view, etc.)

I am not sure if its possible to remove that view using code or something. Can someone provide inputs on this on how to fix it?

    Hi,

Not sure why are not imppementing field level secirity ?

You can create another view with the columns you need and change the views of the subgrid by going to form editior subgrid properties.

To restrict columns to show in other area like advanced find you simply create field level security and assign the user or team which field  you don't want to display.

    Hi,

Field Security would not work since users should be able to see it generally and the request was just to remove the field in the subgrid view (since it is a redundant information).

Also, client does not want to create a new view just for this subgrid view as it will cause confusion with their users and they wanted to limit views as much as possible.

:) strange client , this is simple way to change the view and create new view and add in the subgrid .

Another options without create view would be change view using custom fetchXML , but this is not supported way -

That way, the best way is to change the contact associated view by removing the customer column from the view. The associated view is the view that is meant to be displayed in the sub-grid of a main record.

On the other hand, as a consultant/solution artichect... our role is to guide the client what is the best way to implement his needs and not compromise the performance on the functionality and to avoid as much as possible the unsupported dev.

    Hope this helps!
