CRM 2011 word mail merge templates

We are using CRM 2011 with Word 2010 with thge outlook crm client loaded (rollup 17)

crmtemplate.dot and crmtemplate.dotm are not automatically available in the add-ins, however they are in the CRM location: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics CRM\Client\res\web\_static\Tools\MailMerge"

CRM add-in is not appearing in the add-ins ribbon as expected.

Problem looks to be that the templates have no publisher. Its blank. Is there uptodate signed and published crm template files. we have a group policy of not allowing untrusted publishers.

Is there uptodate template files that DO have a publisher or is there a fix for the client to correct this problem?

Have to enable the templates each time I wish to perform a mail merge. Very frustrating!

    Thank you for using Microsoft Dynamics CRM Communities. I am sorry to hear about the issue you run into.

    I'd like to ask you a couple of questions to better understand the issue.

    Does the problem occur only when working from within Outlook CRM client or also in Internet Explorer?

    I'd recommend you to test the behaviour on a machine where the relevant group policy is not applied.

    This will help us confirm the relation to the GP.

    Theanks for your reply.

    The problem is only relevant for clients that have CRM outlook client loaded. It's within Word 2010. The CRM templates are not available to "word" unless the Outlook client is loaded so I'm not sure how I could test this through internet explorer and nopt having the CRM outlook client loaded. Note: This is not being done through OUtlook 2010, we are initiating the mail merge from the Internet Explorer CRM Client, however when word opens, no CRM templates appear.

    What im trying to do here is get the CRM templates to appear in the Word 2010 Templates ribbon.

    Regarding the Group policies. We are investigating this at the moment. very difficult (without the Group policies) as we are in a corporate network environment. Group policies are applied by default.

    Just a quick note.

    Tried doing a Mail Merge from within Outlook CRM Client... It all worked and sent the mail out as expected.

    Just the Internet explorer Web Client "Mail merge" is not working due to the CRM template button not being available.

    Might be looking to instruct user departments to do mail merge from within CRM outlook Client rather than from the Web Client.
