Hello,

How do you make a price adjustment on a posted sales invoice that has been shipped and invoiced without returning items back into stock?

Valentin is right. In BC, if you need to adjust the price of an item after a sales invoice has been posted without affecting inventory, you can use a sales credit memo with a charge (item) to apply a price adjustment. This method allows you to create a credit for the customer that decreases the amount they owe without altering stock levels. It's an efficient way to correct pricing errors post-sale while ensuring both the General Ledger (G/L) and the Inventory Subledger reflect the adjusted price.

Create a credit memo with a line item that's an item charge. Apply the item charge to the posted item shipment. This will adjust the posted invoice sales price.

The item charge must have the same Gen. Prod. Posting Group as the item you're adjusting the price for, this way the adjustment will post to the same GL Accounts as the original sale.
