Payroll Type

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

How can I modify Payroll Type Other to reduce from the Base Salary payroll like Payroll Type Vacation does?  When I set up a new Payroll code I want to have it reduce from the Base payroll but I would like the Verbiage "Other" to appear on the employee check rather than having to set up the Pay Code like Vacation to get it to reduce from the Base payroll amount.

    RE: Payroll Type

    Hello,

The Pay Type field makes a paycode work a certain way.  If you want a paycode to be Based on Salary and when hours are keyed to it, the Salary hours are reduced, then you need to choose a Pay Type that does this, like Vacation, Sick, Holiday.  I use the Holiday Pay Type if you don't want it under Sick or Vacation.  The Pay Type cannot be edited on a Pay Code once it has been saved.  You would need to either delete or inactivate the old code and set it up again, OR it could be changed in the SQL tables.
