DMF modify source mapping form does not open

I have a problem with the data import export framework in AX 2012 R2 CU7. When preparing an entity I normally generate the source mapping from my csv file and after that I check and manipulate the mapping with the “modify source mapping” form.

Actually I have problems opening the form for a larger entity. For other entities it still opens but for this it just did not open. When debugging the init method I can see that the code runs until line 45 and then it just stops. Could have something todo with the xDocument object.

FORM: DMFSourceXMLToEntityMap.init

Line 45: userHostControl.set_SourceXML(xDocument);

The entity itself is working fine. I can preview and import data but I cannot modify source to staging.

There are no corresponding errors in the Eventlog.

Has anyone else experienced this behavior? Any suggestions on how to solve it?

Have you tried to catch CLR exception in this method?

Thank you for the hint. Catching the CLR error gives me the following exception:

    NAME: ex

    VALUE: System.Exception: MAP006

      bei Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.DMF.Mapper.MapperControl.set_SourceXML(XDocument value)

    TYPE: System.Exception

But how to Interpret this one?

There are ways to solve it,

    1) Please generate incremental CIL.

    2) if issue is not resolved then go to tools => Options => development => uncheck Execute business operations in CIL. Hopefully it will work for you.

If it does not work then you have to go for full compilation. Please share outcomes.

Thanks for the hint. But CIL is not the problem. I already tried it with and without CIL. Full CIL generation was done yesterday wothout errors.

Next thing that I've checked is the CSV file. I created an entity in a contoso box with a new mapping based on that csv file. In that box I'm able to view and edit the source to staging mapping.

So I guess it has something to do with the DMF dll's or the entity itself.

Any ideas and hints are welcome :)

Hi, did you do any changes in the source file? I have had similar trouble, but it was solved by generating the mapping from scratch.

You said that you have this issue while opening larger entity.

Can you please let us know how large the entity is

This entity is standard one or custom one.

Please let us know the details

I think may be this is the limitation to the mapper control

Or consider reinstalling the DMF client component.

Please verify and let us know your findings

    Hi

it occurs with standard entites, for example the DMFCustomerEntity. Due to the fact that the same source file is working fine in a contos box I guess it has something to do with the DMF Installation. I will reinstall the DMF components andd check if that helps.

    Hi all,

reinstalling the Client components did not solve the issue.

So I started with the CustomerEntity_Basic and extended it. After adding a column that is not part of the standard entity the  modify source mapping form is not working anymore. Due to the fact that there is a customization added for this field I guess it is a bug related to this extension.

    Thanks for the support.
