Deleted Click Dimensions Solution - Unable to delete Ribbon Button

We are on CRM 2016 8.1 on prem. We deleted Click Dimensions but we have a button that is still lingering. I have pulled the entity into a separate solution to work on the ribbon from the Ribbon Workbench but it fails when I try to import the changes. Even if I pull the solution into the RW and not make any changes, re-import it, it fails. When I export the solution then re-import without changes, I get an error then as well. I have opened the customization.xml, removed any reference to CD with no success. Any suggestions? I would like to not have to reinstall CD if at all possible but obviously we will if we have no other choice.

RW Error Message: The ribbon item 'ORG.ClickDimensions.contact.form.CustomGroup.Button.RunCampaignAutomation' is dependent on <LocLabel Id="ClickDimensions.contact.form.CustomGroup.Button.RunCampainAutomation.LabelText" />

Solution Import Error Message Summarized: The ribbon item 'ClickDimensions.contact.CustomGroup.Button.RunCampainAutomation.Command' is dependent on Web Resource id ='cdi_contact'

Thanks in advance,
Chrys

    Hi ChrysDW,

It looks like there are still some dependencies you need to find and remove.

If you cannot locate the dependencies or cannot work out how to remove them, then you still have the option of removing the visibility of the ClickDimensions button from Ribbon Workbench.

    Hello Chrys,

Does your target environment contains same button ?

What I understand that you have removed from dev environment and when you are moving the solution into target it shows the error with missing web resource cdi_contact.

Did you add the web resource in your solution?

Sometimes removed ribbon button is not showing in the ribbon workbench .This is happened when you are working on managed solution entities.

Try to create new solutions with the entity and webresource, select the entity  expand  ribbon work bench  button  and command navigation check you can find out any hide action for the same button. It's should be there. Make it unhide, or customize command . Check in command whether the javascript function is still added or not , you need to removed it and Publish.

Try once and let me know.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

I would recommand you to open the default solution and check every item if they were created by the cdi(i.e. clickdimension) publisher

They one workaround is just hide that unused actions from ribbon. You can even compose that customizations using plain xml. More details here:

Thank you everyone for your answers. We were going to export the default solution and remove all ClickDimensions references from the XML but that seemed to be a little too risky so we ended up reinstalling CD, deleted the button that was giving us issues, imported the saved SiteMap that removed all references to CD, then deleted the CD solution. All seems to be working as expected now.
