Task cannot be viewed in my activities

Hi,

I created a task under Data validation checklist workspace in D365.

I thought that after creating a task and assign the task to myself, it can be viewed under Common>.My activities.

Did I miss some setup here?

Thanks.

I have the same question (0)

    Hello marypeace,

Got the same issue in my demo environment.

Seems that the integration into the activities is currently not supported.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Marypeace,

The 'My activities' is based on the activities table used for case management and sales follow up. There is no link between data validation tasks and these activities. You can actually create a tile on a workspace to get the count and a direct link to the validation checklists with a range on your user ID.

    Hi Andre,

    Thanks for clarifying that.

But how will the user be informed that there are tasks assigned to them?

    Thanks.

    Hi marypeace,

One option would be leveraging the PowerPlatform to send out email notifications / create Outlook tasks.

This should be doable by leveraging business events and the PowerPlatform.

Yet, I am not sure whether this is worth the effort.

For me it seems easier tracking the tasks elsewhere e.g. on Sharepoint where you could create a similar list an make use of the PowerPlatform to inform people and track things in a central place.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Sometimes default views are glitchy.

Try out new Task Management solution for Dynamics 365! It has three separate dashboards, and My Tasks are one of those. It is very convenient to manage your own tasks, brake them down into sub-tasks, reassign to other team members and keep control of the due dates and priorities.

The solution is now available on AppSource
    https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/product/dynamics-365/skyline-consultants-5228552.skyline_taskmanagement?tab=Overview

Or you can read more on the original Skyline Consultants solution webpage:
