Getting error in a fresh demo environment when publishing the catalog, "Product listings can't be created."

I´m doing some standard verifications in a freshly deployed 365 Commerce demo environment, Tier-1. Just to make sure all the parts are working properly and have the connections to the front end Contoso online store.

Distributsion schedules, sessions etc work fine, but not the catalog publish for some reason. This error message is new to me in the catalog publish validations.

Full message: "The channel Contoso online store has not been published. Product listings can't be created."

    Hey Nahh,

If you validate catalog and get the error ‘The channel Contoso online store has not been published. Product listings can't be created

The following steps may help you in resolving this issue.

How to update the demo online store with new products (for testing or repro)

    1. Add your new item to product table in HQ (create new Released product)
    2. From SQL – update the Publish Status of your Online channel to “3” in 2 different tables (they will be set to 2 in the demo database, you will need to change this)
      1. Ax.RetailOnlineChannelPublishStatus
      2. Dbo.RetailOnlineChannelPublishStatus

    3. Add this new item (from step #1) to an online catalog that corresponds with the online channel you wish to test
    4. Validate catalog (validation should pass now that you’ve fixed channel publishing status in step 2)
    5. Publish catalog using workflow
    6. Run job 9999
    7. Wait for a few minutes – also clear cache/refresh website, etc…sometimes it will take some time for the new product to appear on website.

    Thanks,
