"You do not have permission to read the Service Header table." when adding a field to table 18

When I try to add a field with id 50000 to table 18 (customer), I am getting the message above.

License is our customer license Dynamics NAV 2016 Starter Pack with 3 concurrent users licensed (Country Code: Germany). Changes to reports and other tables are possible. Our partner said "this is due to licensing, you need to have the extended pack for adding a field, because the Service Module is part of extended only."

I think this must be a bug in some way, because it has to be possible to add a field with the starter pack to the customer table. We are not using service module in any way.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best regards

Chris

Under the conditions you had mentioned, to me it looks like a bug. What CU are you using? Try installing the latest. If it does not help (and if your partner is not able to assist you in addressing this error), I'd recommend you to address your inquiry to Microsoft customer support: itmbssup@microsoft.com

If you are just adding a field to table 18, you don't need the extended pack... Are you using a development license?

No development license. Standard "Starter Pack" license.

Our partner is opening a call to Microsoft for this issue, since we are not changing anything in Service or other "extended" modules. We just want to add a text field to the table 18.

Thank you all for your answers. I will refer to this thread, when we have the feedback from partner/microsoft.

Please delete the data from Service Header table and try again.

There is no data in service header table, since we

    - don't use a cronus demo company

    - are not able to put data into it via nav

    - we have added a new, blank company

    @all: we are using NAV 2016 CU9

    I'm also get this error.

In my case, License is also customer license Dynamics NAV 2016 Starter Pack with 3 concurrent users licensed. (Global Version). I test NAV 2016 CU 11. I get this error while I only delete a customer on RTC.

Whenever you get answer from Microsoft, please let me know. I will follow this thread.

    Thank you so much.
