Crystal Sub Report

ReportReport
Posted on by 110

I added a Crystal sub report to a Project report, where the sub report is only printing the total expenses of the project.

When I look at the sub report the I can see the field and it has the correct amount.

When I add it to the original report and run it, It prints the field and the correct amount for all record rows but the first row in the report.  Is there a way to force it to print on the first record row?

Thanks,

     Rich,

The problem could arise from a number of issues.  Can you provide a bit more information, for example:

What version of Crystal are you running?

What section is the sub-report in?

Is the sub-report linked on one or more-than-one column?

Is the sub-report linked via a formula (ie not linked from one field to another, but from a field to a Crystal formula?)

Does the link field in the main report have a value for that missing record?

This is definitely odd, but it also should be fixable.  Have you submitted anything to Business Objects yet?  In case this is an obscure bug, you'll want to notify them early.

I saw this on another forum suggesting that this is a CR issue with SL 6.5 SP1

Were you able to resolve the issue?

I was not able to resolve it.  But the problem is occuring on a client running SL 6.5 SP1.

I was able to resolve the problem with my report by unchecking "Verify on First Refresh" from the subreport report options. File --> Report options. I discovered this after taking an original Solomon report with a subreport e.g. 10810.rpt and comparing it to my report. I usually start with a Solomon report when creating new reports for this same reason but I guess I didn't this time around :(. Any idea why this made a difference?

Maybe you can try RAQ Report. It's a free excel-like reporting tool. You can get free User Manual - RAQ Report 4.0. You can easily learn to use it .And RAQ Report provides free reliable Doc, Demo, Forum, Email support.
