Fixed Assets Report Depreciation not appeared

Hi

          I have a client who has a problem and I don't know how to solve it

he having problems with fixed Assets reports ( Depreciation ) , whene print the reporte it not appears , I have tried by screen, by printer and file

The report does not appear and takes a very long time, a day or more , Also, what disrupts the not responding program, so I close the program

he Have 74784 Assets

    Hello Amgad,

    Is there a specific FA Report that this is occurring for or is it all FA reports do not produce anything? If you run this for a small range (say 5-10) assets, does the report print data and take less time to print?

    I have a few things you can try to see if it corrects your issue.

    1. First, pick one Asset that you can focus on.
    2. Next, check the Financial Detail window to verify that Depreciation has been taken for this Asset at some point.
      1. Financial >> Inquiry >> Fixed Assets >> Financial Detail
      2. Select the Asset.
      3. Select the book.
      4. Look at the Src. Doc field for FADEP (Depreciation).
    3. Now run the Report for only this Asset if you saw FADEP in the Financial Detail window.
      1. Do you see the expected information?
      2. Does the report generate in a timely manner?
    4. If the report is not showing any information still, create a new Report Option as these can get correctup.
      1. In the Depreciation Reports window, select the report in the drop down.
      2. Click New.
      3. Enter your restrictions.
      4. Test printing to see if the new option works.
    5. If the issue still occurs and you do see FADEP, synchronize your forms and reports.dic.

    Error message when you try to log on to Microsoft Dynamics GP after you copy the reports.dic file to a shared location: "Reports Dictionary Must be Upgraded"

    1. With 74,784 Assets, if you are running the report for all and have never retired an Asset, i can see this taking a long time due to how many Assets and likely a lot of activity has happened for these.

    When Inquiry about the one assets through a screen

    Financial >> Inquiry >> Fixed Assets >> Financial Detail

    I tried to show the one assets by inquiry , it was shown already

    But when extracting the depreciation report for a number of assets or assets by class or assets by location through a screen

    Financial >> Reports>> Fixed Assets >> Depreciation

    the report is not show and causes the program to be disabled ( Not Responding )

    Does the Dynamics GP not show the Depreciation report if there is many assets ??

    Hi Amgad,

    What are you using for your restriction to view the assets on the report. If GP is not responding, it could be that you have a vary large number of assets and you might need to add a restriction to only do smaller subsets of assets in order to get the report to generate. I would recommend trying to add a restriction to get a smaller subset of assets to see if you can get the report to render. If it still does not, is this a modified report or the canned report. If modified does the canned one render data, when you restrict it to a smaller subset of data?
