How to load default cubes with for only last 2 years data

Hello All,

I am very new to Dynamics AX 2012 R3 and I am just suppose to build Power BI reports from Dynamics AX 2012 R3. The nature of reporting is Revenue and Orders related. I have chosen the Default cube as date source method for reporting. I am still to understand how to get my required information from default cubes.

But at this point, Since Dynamics AX 2012 R3 database contains loads of data, the Power BI get timeout/hangs while loading data. I see there are many previous years data. I want to report for current and last year data i.e. from 2015 -2017.  Is there any way that the default all the data in the cubes are filtered only for 2015 to till date to limit the number of records? I want a solution where instead of filtering on each every table or cubes the default cubes loads with limited records only?

Also if any guidance on which cubes I will require for Sales Order and Revenue reporting? So in case I can remove all other cubes which I don't want from the SSAS project so Power BI limits the number of rows loaded?

Any guidance on these topics will help me greatly as I am a beginner.

what do you mean by last 2 years?

if you need a specific data, you can create a view with data and use this view in cubes

Thanks for your reply, The main point is i am very new to Dynamics AX data structure and I don't want to prepare views for all the cubes/tables. That would be very time consuming and complex.

My point is while we deploy Default Cubes, is there any settings which can have cubes data only for specific period instead of all the period data which is in AX Database.

    Thanks Once again.
