Updating account descriptions - we "hard-coded" account descriptions using integration manager a couple of years ago.  I would now like to have all account descriptions build from the segments names - including those that were already hard-coded.  Is there any way to un-do the hard-coding?

You could do a mass modify and create another chart of accounts with one of the segments different in the mask, the mass modify tool lets you allow the descriptions to auto fill if you want. Then, use the PSTL tool to combine the two accounts so that your new account 'wins'. Finally, use the PSTL tool to change the account number back to what it was in the beginning.

Alternatively, you could use mass modify to create your account descriptions in new accounts, then use the integration manager to update the existing account description from the new accounts. (the gl00101 would be a source in your integration. Then use mass modify again to delete the new accounts.

There are probably other ways, but that's what came to mind - without using SQL against the tables.

    Kind regards,
