BOM Freezes GP 2010 When Click Top-Level Item

I am having an issue that I just cannot seem to resolve with typical ways I would troubleshoot. The product I am using is GP 2010. The issue is in the Manufacturing Module>Bill of Materials Entry.

GP will freeze up when clicking on the top-level item while in the BOM entry screen. A lot of times the cause of this is a recursive BOM for one of the components but this is not the case with this. GP will completely freeze up and only way to go back into it is to kill it in the task manager which is never what you want to do but the only option.

Anyone have any solutions/ideas for what could be causing this issue?

There seems to be no issue creating new BOMs or editing most BOMs in the system. It is more of an isolated issue to this specific BOM

If you manually create a BOM using the GP interface - do you have any problems?

These were not imported. There is a chance that it was copied but it was not imported.

    Joe -

I've seen this before when the BOM's were improperly imported into GP. I would suggest you manually create a similar BOM using the GP interface - I'll bet you won't have any problems.

If the BOM's were imported (usually via table import) - whoever performs the import needs to truly understand the data schema of the BM010115 table.

    Were these imported?
