User of access teams are not able to see related activities

We are using access team to grant specific users access to global customers from different business units.

Normally all users only see the records in their businness unit.

Example:

Account A is in business unit 1. User from business unit 2 doesn't have access to the account, but needs to see it. We create a access team for the user, now he can see the account from the different business unit and he also sees the related opportunities, leads, quotes & orders, what's fine. But in the timeline, he doesn't see the associated activities for the account.

Is this by design?

We already checked the relationships and cascading settings from the account to the different activities and everything looks fine.

Does someone have a hint what we are missing or is this not realizable?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

I have tried to reproduce your issue but the activities can be seen in the timeline both by adding the user into a new access team or creating an access team template for Account entity.

Would you please provide more information about how you configure the access team and the user.

It would be appreciated if you could provide some screenshots about it.

    Hi Nya,

thank you for your feedback and testing.

We've set up access team templates with read and read / write permission, my test with both weren't successful.

This is how the access team is set up:

The regarding is of course set to the specific account.

And this is how the access role itself looks like:

The user is set up normally with user roles limited to the data in his own business he is assigned to.

    Do you need more information?

    Hi,

The steps you provided are a bit different from what I tested.

Please refer to the following tutorial which contains detailed steps:

Access Team Templates in Dynamics 365 - Carl de Souza

These steps are much the same as my tests.

If there is still any problem with you following this tutorial, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Hi Nya,

thank you for the reference on the turorial!

Our current access team setup is a little bit different compared to the standard access teams, because we are using some additional features from our system integrator.

Nevertheless, I tested setting up an access team as mentioned in the tutorial, but that didn't help either.

I went back to the relationships between the account and the different activities and could solve the problem.

I had to change the cascading for "share", "unshare" and "reparent" from "none" to "cascade all".

From now on all newly created activities will be visible for the users accessing the account over an acces team.

Thank you for your assistance on this!
