Multi-Level BOM/ Alternate Item on "SUB-BOM" manufacturing Bill of Materials

Is there a way to use alternate items on that “Sub-BOM”?  I can’t figure out how to switch out the alternate item on the 2nd level of a multi-level BOM. The picklist and receipt for the BOM will only show me alternates at the main level and not at the “Sub-BOM” level.

    answered my own question...GP assumes a MFG sub-BOM is already in stock and on the floor. Use phantom BOMs if you want the ability to switch out alternate components.
