Event Registration for Contacts

Dear Community, hello!

I have a scenario that I cannot solve, but I think there is an easy and elegant solution. This is the case:

  1. I have created an email to invite people to participate in an event. The email has a link to an external landing page
  2. I have created a Marketing Form, with the needed fields to capture prospects or contacts. The JScript of this form is embedded in the external landing page
  3. When I execute the customer journey, the emails are sent to the target segment, the contacts are able to open the mail and navigate to the external landing page
  4. In the landing page, contacts can fill the marketing form to register in the event
  5. If a non-contact (ie an email that is not in the Contact entity in Dynamics Marketing) fills and sends the registration form, the contact is created and the event registration is properly created (Great!!!)
  6. BUT... and this is the problem: If a contact fills and sends the registration form, Nothing happens. My expectation is, given that the contact exists in the Dynamics Marketing site, only the event registration should be created.... But this record (event registration) is not created.

Any suggestion? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Hugo.

    Hi Hugo,

Have you checked the embedded form type is Event registration?

    pastedimage1592905989772v2.png

After marketing form has been associated with event and the "Use marketing form for registration" field of event is set to Yes by us,

we should copy automatically generated script in "Form hosting" field to external web page.

Please check introduction below to get more details about using marketing form for event registration:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/event-forms

In addition, we should enable the feature manually in Settings > Other settings > Feature switches.

Thanks Clofly!!!! I am getting closer to the solution :)

I did execute your instructions, but in the "Event Form", in the "Web Hosting" section, I do not see any information regarding "Form Hosting" (with the script to embed). Also, I am using an external site to host my form pages. Not sure if this can affect the functionality.

    Thanks!

Sorry!! My mistake!!! The  "Form Hosting" field and the script appears after the Event is activated :)

HUGOMORA I know this post is older, but we are struggling with #5 on your list. Parent Account is required for our contacts. Is that the case with yours? If so how do you work around that with your form.
