Dynamics Posts & Activities

Hi,

I've got another question which hopefully one of our experts can help me with.  The purpose of this is to try and not miss any potential information relating to an account.

Currently I frequently use the Post feature to add comments relating to accounts, leads and opportunities.  I choose not to put them against the contact so that my colleagues will see the Post regardless of which Contact they may be in touch with from an Account.

Is there a way to auto replicate this Post against all Contacts from said Account?  Just so that no one misses anything.

On a similar subject i have found myself not checking the activities against an Account and phoning / emailing etc a Contact even though one of my colleagues has already done this.  Is there a way of getting all Posts and Activities appearing on an Account homepage?  Currently it is set to all Posts but I don't see a way of getting Posts and Activities to appear.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Thanks

MrM

    RE: Dynamics Posts & Activities

    Hi,

You can create posts using the SDK.

This means that you can create a plugin on the Create Message of a post, and check if it is set to the Account entity. If it is, you would retrieve all the Contacts associated with the account, and create a post on the Contact record. Might be a little of an overkill though.

Regarding your second question, You can set which tab would be your starting tab in the Timeline area, but at this point there is no way of doing it. This is a feature that will be converted to a timeline, where all your Activities, Posts and Notes will show up together. I would estimate this will be coming out in the next few months. It is currently in development.

    Hope this helps.
