functionality of Global address book

Dear All,

i go through some link for Global Address book but some time i confuse when working with Customer and Vendo address.

Can you please  let me know which tables are involved in GAB?

Please give me more shed on this.

    Hi,

    Global address book basically holds party records. And all commercial and personal accounts in the application -such  as vendors, customers, workers, contacts- are related to parties.

    Global address book is a shared functionality and so DirPartyTable is a shared table. A record in global address book can be reached from any legal entity and you can see the roles of a party in global address book.

    Let's say I have a vendor named ABC shoes in my legal entity X, this creates a party record also. When I click to this record in global address book form I can see that it has a role in my company X as a vendor. If this company becomes a customer for my legal entity Y, I can create a customer record and connect these two in several ways. Then I will see in global address book that this company is a vendor for my company X and a customer for my company Y. This section will also show their account numbers next to their roles by legal entities.

    There is also a functionality called address book security. When activated, it can limit users to see only specific vendors, customers, workers etc.

    Can you please let me know if i want to print complete address of Customer or Vendor then which tables are involved?

    DirPartyTable is root table.
