What security/permission must you update to give a user access to modify reports in Dynamics GP?

Under Administration, Setup, System, select Alternate/Modified Forms/Reports. Select reports and drill down to the report you modified. Click on the modified version to allow users to access.
The ID requested allows you to put your users in several groups and allow different users access to different versions of reports/forms. If you are not using this, then the DefaultUsers ID will work. If you are not sure and only have a couple of groups, change the settings in all of the IDs.
Thank you for the information. I am trying to give a specific user access so that they have the ability to actually modify our reports. We were processing 1099s and the user who handles them was unable to modify the report as needed because she did not have access. I would like to give this user the access she needs to modify such reports but I am unable to find how to do grant this particular access in Dynamics.
Hi Tasha,
That's a different type of security. What you want to do is give her access to the Report Writer customization tool. However, if she has access to the Report Writer, she can access and modify any report in the dictionary, not just the 1099 report.. I would move her to a local copy of the Reports Dictionary rather than allowing access to the shared dictionary. She can modify what she needs to without risking the production reports.
Create a security task that grants access to the customization tool as shown below.
Kind regards,
Leslie

1) First you will need to grant access to the Report writer and modifier. The Security role and security task id are as follows:
2) Next you will need to give the user access to VBA Keys

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929612
3) Next you will need to give access to the report
The below script will give list of all available report and the security task associated to the report which the user should have access.
SELECT dbo.SY10700.SECURITYTASKID, dbo.SY10700.SECRESTYPE, dbo.SY09400.PRODNAME, dbo.SY09400.TYPESTR, dbo.SY09400.DSPLNAME, dbo.SY09400.Series_Name FROM dbo.SY09400 INNER JOIN dbo.SY10700 ON dbo.SY09400.DICTID = dbo.SY10700.DICTID AND dbo.SY09400.SECRESTYPE = dbo.SY10700.SECRESTYPE WHERE (dbo.SY09400.SECURITYID = 1) AND (dbo.SY09400.SECRESTYPE = 23) GROUP BY dbo.SY10700.SECURITYTASKID, dbo.SY10700.SECRESTYPE, dbo.SY09400.PRODNAME, dbo.SY09400.TYPESTR, dbo.SY09400.DSPLNAME, dbo.SY09400.Series_Name
Cheers!
