Inventory counting using a unit of measure that is different from the default inventory UOM

Hi All,
I want to perform inventory counting using a unit of measure (M3) that is different from the default inventory UOM (Ea) by setting up an inter-class conversion.

The Inter- class conversion is done on the Released product as follows:
Conversion between  Ea <>  M3

When I try to do the counting, the base unit is not active- grayed-out. and the QTY is being calculated using the base unit in Ea not the M3.
I expect the system will take the conversion unit as Counting unit, but its not the case.

Has anyone encountered this issue?

    Hi,

I think that works by design. As far as I understood, on the released product fast tab manage inventory the UOM is ea.
Therefore, inventory processes are done in ea. If you purchase, sell or use the BOM UOM as m3, the system will add, deduct or consume from the inventory in UOM ea as there is a conversion for it.
If you want to process inventory processes in m3, you need to select m3 as UOM in the manage inventory fast tab on released products.

    Kind regards, Adis

    Hi Adis,

Thanks for your reply, I seems a good way to go, since there is no other option to do the counting using different UOM.
I'll keep the sales/purchase unit as it is, will setup the inventory unit for M3.
