Email is not getting out of the Dynamics 365 Environment from a Workflow

So, I have implemented some workflows in my Sales module that sends an email (to myself for testing) when a new Lead is created. I looked into my Email settings on my server and did some test emails and it shows as success (I guess you do not actually receive an email). I am using the email from my tenant account (my own email).

When I run the workflow, I do not get an email. Is there a checklist somewhere where I can verify that my email was setup properly?

    Ok, so I took an account, gave the owner of the workflow (myself) Send As permission in Exchange and used that account to try and send that email, and still it says I do not have permissions. That account now has all the required permissions to send an email and her mailbox has been verified. But at least my account works, I will use that for now.

    Charles,

    The person that is going to be listed in the From (Sender) field has to provide permission to allow other users to send on their behalf. Try it out with one account and see what the results are.

    I do not think this is the problem. I am simply trying to send an email as that person. Well, actually, I am trying to have the workflow send as that person. Which account is the workflow running as? Is it running as the owner of the workflow and hence why you are saying I am sending as that person? That would make sense.

    Hi Charles,

    I think the issue is that you are trying to send email as another user.

    The actual users have to give permissions for other users to send email on their behalf.

    If you go to Settings -> Options (Personal Options not System Options), in the Email Tab, under Select whether other users can send email for you, make sure that the Allow other Microsoft Dynamics 365 users to send email on your behalf is checked on each user's account.

    Important: If you choose this option, other Microsoft Dynamics 365 users will be able to send email messages with or without your knowledge that display you as the sender.

    Thank you to both of you for the response,

    So I managed to approve my email over and over again and now I can send emails after having verified a few things (with my personal email account). But my users cannot send emails (with their dynamics email account). The workflow says they do not have permissions. But I have approved them and I have tested their emails and everything shows success. Am I missing a permission somewhere in Dynamics for Sending Emails?

    Hi Charles,

    If you send an email from CRM Online to yourself not using a Workflow do you receive it?

    If you are not receiving the email that is the first thing you need to check.

    Are you using Server Side Sync? Connecting to Exchange Online?

    If you are able to send emails (without workflow), please share with us workflow step design of email.

    That would be a good starting point.

    Can you please share the screen-shot of workflow and version of CRM?

    As you said you are not receiving mail from workflow, are you getting mails for other scenarios?
