Change posting date for an approved "checkrev" JE

A user is trying to post a check reversal JE, which has been approved, but since it's a posting that where the period has already been closed it will not post.  Is there a way to change the date without having to delete it?

    Can you still edit the journal lines?

    How has the approval been made? Through a workflow...?
