Dear Sir,

Our Both Servers (NAV Server & SQL Server) are on Azure. The Client Service Port on NAV Server is 1234 & it's working fine till day before yesterday. Yesterday onward, it stops working. The following error message is found in Event Log while trying to start the service.

Server instance: DynamicsNAV90
The service MicrosoftDynamicsNavServer$DynamicsNAV90 failed to start. This could be caused by a configuration error. Detailed error information: System.ServiceModel.AddressAlreadyInUseException: There is already a listener on IP endpoint 0.0.0.0:1234. This could happen if there is another application already listening on this endpoint or if you have multiple service endpoints in your service host with the same IP endpoint but with incompatible binding configurations. ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted

But the Status of the 1234 PORT is found free in netstat.
What is the issue ? How to resolve it ?

Kindly help.

    Hi,

Check the binding certificates(SSL) for the server in IIS. Also check the Inbound and Outbound rules in Azure.

    Hi,

I've faced and fixed this issue just today. Restart the server where is installed NAV and magically everything will start working correctly again.

My explanation is that the service had difficulty to stop and in some place is remaining that port is listed as used when in reality it is not.

I hope this sharing will help someone to avoid spending time trying to understand unmanaged exceptions.

    All the Best
