Adding an image to a product record - is this possible?

I am new to Dynamics CRM but hope to become competent enough where someday I can answer a question but for now, many questions.....

Let's say I create products: chair, table, couch, rug, lamp

is it possible to store an image of the product with the record and then for extra credit - can you display a list of your products where the image is a column that I can return in the report or list so it will show up?

Much appreciated.

You can store 1 image per record for any entity which will be visible on the record itself. There is an image field you can create in CRM. You can store the image online and provide the link in CRM or upload it to CRM.

You can use notes entity to store the images for your product and can access those images in reports, or you can store them to other place like sharepoint.

Thanks for the response. I definitely saw something to that effect in the documentation I read through, but I would be grateful if you could provide a simple step by step. When I added the image it seemed like it was the same image in all products , meaning I didn't see in the ui functionality that allows for a 1 to 1 image to product record input. Thanks

Thanks I will take a look in am est. I am not really a coder anD am the only one supprting the entire product so hoping to stay within the bounds of the out of the box ui, but maybe that is wishful thinking!

thanks Alex - your product looks impressive however I really am trying to limit my usage to strictly the four corners of what comes out of the box at this time versus a third party add on.

Hi

Customize your product Form.

Go Settings -> Customizations ->Customize the System ->Entities ->product -> Forms

-add IFrame (forexample with Name= IFRAME_pic URL=about:blank )

-add JavaScript on Form properties OnLoad event following;

function onload() { var url =Xrm.Page.getAttribute("producturl").getValue(); Xrm.Page.ui.controls.get("IFRAME_pic").setSrc(url); }

save and close product form and populate.

On Product go to URL field ("producturl") and give URL link of your product picture where you store. Save and reopen.

You will get picture or image of your product on product.

Hi Necdet,

I really appreciate your response - but I am not quite able to implement your suggestion. If there was any way you could show screen shots I would greatly appreciate it. fyi - the path you describe above:

Go Settings -> Customizations ->Customize the System ->Entities ->product -> Forms

at the end of that path, you are still presented with a list of "system forms" which shows the view "active forms".

of the active forms, I chose "product" form, then I click on "insert" tabl and choose Iframe.

in the general tab, I name it what you suggest above, and enter url as you recommend as well, about:blank

I hit ok to save the add Iframe

then I click on home tab and click on form properties. Up pops a window and that is where I am stuck - there is a tab called events with two sections - the top appears to be a place to add a library. the bottom is a section called "event handlers" which defaults control=form and event=onload. I am not sure if I am in the right place, but it doesnt quite map to your process - and specifically when I click on "add" in the event handler section, I get an error saying at least one library must be added - and then when I go to the top section, and click add, I am presented with records that I have no idea what to do with.

As I said, if you could possibly show some screen shots of each step, that would be extremely helpful because I am unable to accomplish my requirement with your response.

I tried to do this - but it seemed like it did not allow for a unique image to be stored or each product record - it seemed like it was a single image for the company - more like branding - but of course I may have been doing something wrong. Aside from the painfully obvious question of why doesn't microsoft make this idiot proof since its so critical, can you you confirm that you can store a unique image for each product records and I will take another dive in
