Pick Slip error

Hi

When I go to create the pick slip from the source document itself it says there is " nothing to create in the order." What are the reasons behind this error? I released the document prior to creating a pick slip for the sales order. I received the Purchase order and invoiced the purchase order. I even tried creating the pick slip from the purchase order and it still gives me the same error. Naturally, the link below does not give any clear solutions.

Thanks.

sorry for the late reply, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! You guided me to correcting the error, I had to create a warehouse shipment. I appreciate your assistance, if there is any other type of review or something that would help you on this forum please let me know.

    Hi,

Do you mean that you are not using the warehouse module, but accidentally the Sales Order expects a warehouse shipment?

    Hi,

On your Sales Order, in the Lines area (Lines Fasttab), there are columns that show important status about your Sales Order Items... the following (you may need to right click on the column header and select "Choose Columns" in order to view all of these columns in your Lines Fasttab of your Sales Order):

     Line No.
     Type
     No.
     Description
     Quantity
     Qty. to Ship
     Qty Shipped
     Qty. to Invoice
     Quantity Invoiced

Please check these fields for the line items on the Sales Order and verify the following:

The Quantity field has a value greater than zero
The Qty. Shipped field shows blank or shows as less than the Quantity field
The Quantity Invoiced field shows blank or shows as less than the Quantity field

If these check out okay, then the issue you're dealing with may be as simple as first creating a Warehouse Shipment. This option can be found on the Actions tab of the Sales Order. Once the Warehouse Shipment is created then you can create the Pick.

I have received and invoiced the required purchase order for this sales order. I have a soft reserve associated with this sales order via the order planning worksheet. I have not shipped or invoiced the sales order. Is it still possible to get a pick, if I just received and invoiced the PO?

So to restate where my sales order and purchase order is in the process:

Sales order is not shipped nor invoiced

Purchase order is received and invoiced

Also a little bit more about the warehouse, I am not using any associated zones or bins at all in my warehouse. I do not set any required pick or put aways in my warehouse location.

    RE: Pick Slip error

    Hello,

The 'Nothing To Post' error means that there are no items on the Sales Order to pick. It can mean a variety of things:

Is there an Outstanding Quantity still shippable on that Sales Order?
Have you already shipped and invoiced this order?
Are the items you are trying to pick reserved for another order?
If you use Warehouse Management then have you created the Warehouse Shipment first before attempting to create the pick?

I noticed you mentioned that you, "received the Purchase order and invoiced the purchase order" so does this mean you've already invoiced this order? If so, the system may think this sales order is complete.

Please take this list into consideration and then post more detail to receive a more specific response.

    Take care,

    RE: Pick Slip error

    Hi,

Could you provide the exact error, perhaps by the screenprint of the error.
