Downloading symbols

Posted on by 422

Hi,

So in BC14 I've created a new project and like every other project I need to download symbols. The PC I'm on runs a Production and Sandbox environment. Now when i want to download the symbols it gives me an out of memory exception when both of the services are running. So I was wondering if it is allowed to download symbols from the Production instance so I could turn of the Sandbox one for more memory?

    Hi,

From what I can understand, you have installed BC-OnPrem.

In this case, you can turn off Sandbox but then you will have to change the Server Instance, Credential Types etc. in your launch.json in the project and all your app deployments will be done to production environment.

If you are doing on Docker then you can stop one container and then proceed.

How much memory did you assign to your docker image? I would recommend increasing that to 8G or 10G.

    Hi,

If you already downloaded symbol for other project with the same BC version, you can simply copy the symbols files from other projects to your new one. You can found it under ".alpackages" project subfolder.
