I have previously tested the web service URLs on Dynamics 365 Financials, and they worked properly, returning JSON and XML data in Chrome. This video shows the web services working fine as of May 1.

On May 10th, I found that my D365 Financials account had been upgraded to version 16552, and I noticed that the web service URLs no longer worked on my account. I access the URLs, enter my username and web service access key, and I only get a blank page in my browser. No JSON or XML data is returned for any of the web service URLs.
I tried deleting and recreating a few of the web services and tried resetting my web service access key, but that didn't help.
I then tested with my partner demo account (MOD#######.onmicrosoft.com), and the web services work properly with that account.
So there appears to be an issue with the web services on my account.
Who can I contact to get assistance with this issue?
Hi Alex- Did you ever get an answer to this issue? I'm having the exact same issue. Thanks!
I am also trying to use the Add in for Excel. However, when I open any Excel download in my local office copy, I get the Add In error that it could not be started. However, if I save it OneDrive and open it with Excel Online, it works.
Does anyone know what the issue could be? I already upgraded local copy to Office 2016 thinking that was it.
Thanks
Dane
Hi,
I'm developing an integration between our in house ERP and the D365 for financials everything was smooth. However since July 19th I can't connect to any Odata v4 endpoints I receive the error "The server has rejected the client credentials.". The service don't even ask for credentials as it used to do. Doesn't matter if I'm trying through the browser or using the C# client.
I already try to remove the allowed Companies service, the services I added, clean the cache, different credentials, a new company, computers, networks, countries(VM on Azure), nothing seems to be the problem. So I'm assuming is a software related issue or my environment/instance has a problem.
PS :The strangest thing is when I connect using Odata on Power BI App it works intermittently. Also I have no other accounts to further testing.
Best,
Alex
Hey,
The publish in Excel issue is being caused by having Date columns added. You need to go into the Design area and remove any date fields form the workbook, then update, then you'll be able to publish new records back into Financials.
Depending one what area you are using the 'Edit in Excel' feature, you may need to remove multiple date fields.
This issue should be resolved in the next update I believe.
'Steps for fixing this when attempting to publish new Accounts'
• Open the Edit in Excel spreadsheet
• Click on ‘Design’
• Click ‘Edit’ next to G_L_Account_Card Table
• Under the Selected Fields area, Remove the ‘Last_Date_Modified’ field
• Click Update and then Done
• Click Refresh
Thanks,
Chris
Hi JohnsonX,
This error has to do with a field not being populated in the way Dynamics 365 expects. Sometimes a field may be missing or have an incorrect value. I have never had success with the Add New button. Have you tried just adding rows to the worksheet without clicking "Add New"? I added some General Journals that way, but it took me hours of trial and error to get it to work.
Just know that publishing in Edit in Excel is "iffy". There are some Edit in Excel sheets, that have publishing enabled, that I could not get to work at all. The situation seems to be getting better with each update, so I am
Hello Chris, in Dynamics365 we can use the excel add-in to change values and publish but as soon as we add new and try to publish we get "Data Object Not Provided Error"... we are getting this in all "Edit in Excel" interfaces. Ideas? Your help is greatly appreciated.
Hello,
There isn't a list. If you are matched up with what someone else has I would expect it to work. I would instead make sure the URL isn't getting messed up if you are copy\pasting it into Power BI. Paste the URL into notepad first and then re-copy it and paste it into Power BI.
Make sure you're following the guide here: blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/.../how-to-deploy-the-dynamics-365-for-financials-power-bi-content-pack

Hi Chris - I've been getting a related error lately when trying to use PowerBI, which is "The feed's metadata document appears to be invalid.". I checked and had "allowed Companies" published as a web service. I deleted it and all the web services I added, then I watched Steve Endow's YouTube video to make sure I re-added all the web services necessary to connect with Power BI. My web services page looks exactly like Steve's, but still I'm having no luck connecting. Is there a list of all web services that must be present for Power Bi to connect to D365F?
Thanks,
Chris
Interesting. I just tried that and confirmed that it does create the Allowed Companies web service. I wouldn't be surprised if I clicked on Edit in Excel while poking around, so that would explain why it appeared on my account.
Hello,
I think we've figured out how it's getting added. If you go to 'My settings' and then click the arrow to expand the list of companies you can log into, it opens the 'Allowed Companies' window. If you click 'Edit in Excel' in this window it adds the Web Service. Whether people are doing this on purpose or not I don't know. Not sure why anyone would try to edit this list in Excel, but the option is there for people to click on purpose or by accident.
Thanks,
Chris
