Hi All

I have added a new web page to my existing asp.net solution (which is embedded in CRM)

Now I am facing problems in publishing the website.

I have only added one new page to the solution .Can someone tell me how can I publish only this page.

When I published the whole website it is giving me errors.

Many Thanks

Suman

    Hi Suman,

The ISV folder is not supported anymore to be location of your ASP.NET, did you use that?

If not, then you should place to another website port and another folder, don't put in the same CRM website location, last time ISV folder was supported.

Then, you should include all the required .dll reference, then you should change the apppool setting:

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks.

    Hi,

I tend to try and avoid using ASP.Net as far as possible due to the authentication issues between CRM and a custom website. As per msdn.microsoft.com/.../gg509027.aspx

Create a new website for your code when any of the following applies:

    • Your application must be bound to a domain, protocol, or port that is different from the Microsoft Dynamics CRM application; or must run in a different application pool.

    • Your application can exist and be accessed on its own. For example, a portal that interacts with Microsoft Dynamics CRM as the server (by using web services) should be hosted as a new website.

    • Your application always uses Active Directory or integrated Windows authentication (not IFD) and cross-domain scripting is not an issue. For example, your application interacts with a back end by using web services and interacts with Microsoft Dynamics CRM forms. A page hosted in an IFRAME that is enclosed in Microsoft Dynamics CRM application that does not interact with the Microsoft Dynamics CRM form falls into this category.

If you can, I'd suggest trying to use a webresource that uses javascript and HTML without relying on a server side aspx page. If not, you'll have to implement authentication as per http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/gg509061.aspx

    Hope this helps,

    Scott

    Hi Aileen

    Many Thanks for the response.

Yes we have our aspx files on the ISV folder .(and this folder only contains .aspx pages no .aspx.cs pages).  So I am thinking whether I need to publish the website to this particular ISV folder path. But the other question I have is if I publish the whole website then rest of the pages will also get deployed which I didn't change. I have only changed 2 pages in that website.

Could you please suggest me how do I deploy it to the ISV folder .

    Many Thanks

    Hi,

The ISV folder is no longer supported by Dynamics CRM and should not be used.

You'll need to find a CRM partner to help you convert the code to be supported in CRM2013.

    Hope this helps,

    Scott

    Hi Scott

Thanks for your reply. Sorry I am new to CRM. We are using CRM 2011 here and I have just seen the same website even published on IIS but in the test server and production server still the aspx files are in ISV folder.

Do I need to publish first on the other website in IIS and from there do I need to copy the dll and aspx files onto the ISV folder in the test and production servers?

You'll only need to deploy the website to a single location I would have thought unless it is being accessed by different urls?

If it is in the ISV folder then you shouldn't need to do anything other than copy all the files and dlls to a subfolder under the ISV root.

It runs within the same identity as CRM so that it can impersonate the crm security context. As soon as you move to a separate website you'll loose the authentication mechanism. As I said though, the ISV folder is deprecated in CRM2011 and you need to look at replacing it if you are going to upgrade to CRM2013.

    Hi,

Just create a folder in drive and publish your website to that folder and copy the aspx file and dll to isv folder.

ISV folder is no longer supported but you already using the way, so i hope this will help.
