Stop Appointment Showing in Calendar for creator

Posted on by 70

When you create an appointment is Dynamics it adds the creator of the Appointment to the appointment and puts it into there calendar. Ive tried changing the Owner but it still does it. Is there any way to create an Appointment without it being added to your Calendar.

Assuming you mean Outlook/Exchange calendar you'll want to update the synchronization filters:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/admin/choose-records-synchronize-dynamics-365-outlook-exchange

Providing you're using the out of the box ones you'll see one titled "My Appointments".  Add a clause in here so that Activity Party Participation Type Does not Equal Owner or Organizer.  I expect the latter of the two is why it is still synchronizing despite changing the owner.

    Hi normandipasquale,

Thanks for the response. I thought the same, however i still need actual appointments which the user is part of to sync.

It feels like sabotage, but turn off Tasks, Appointments and Calendar sync in D365 Email Configuration. That should do it, especially if you're referring to their Outlook Calendar.
