Unit not convertible to be transformed to convertible

Posted on by 19

Hello I want to use the unit "reel" in a purchase order line, but it is listed as non convertible. There are fields in the variant to enter data (width and lenght), so my doubt is, what makes a unit to be convertible?. Thanks!

RE: Unit not convertible to be transformed to convertible

    Hi donethur,

There are 3 ways to do so:

1 : create an standard conversion

    1 reel = 1 ea

this option doesn't take in account the item. It's an absolute conversion. it's recomanded when you are converting standard unit of measure like (1km = 1000m)

    2: Create an intraclass conversion

    For the item A0001 1 reel = 1 ea

    For the item A0002 1 reel = 10 ea

this option take in account the item. It's an item relative conversion. The condition to create this type of conversion is to have the "from" and the "to" unit of measures from the same Classe. you can use it when you are converting Quantities unit of measure like (for Item A0001 1box = 1000 ea and for for Item A0002 1box = 1500 ea)

    3: Create an interclass conversion

    For the item A0001 1 reel = 1 ea

    For the item A0002 1 reel = 10 ea

this option take in account the item. It's an item relative conversion. The condition to create this type of conversion is to have the "from" and the "to" unit of measures from diferent Classes. you can use it when you are converting Quantities to weights unit of measure like (for Item A0001 1box = 1000 Kg and for for Item A0002 1box = 1500 kg).

    Kind regards,

    Mehdi
