Decryption of stored procedures in created in AXDB

Hi folks,

We are facing an issue for the stored procedures which were created by our developer in AX DB.

Customized stored procedures are encrypted and we don't have the key to decrypt these.

Is there any way to do the needful.

Suggestions would be highly appreciated.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Fahad,

Could you contact the original developer for help? I don't think without the proper key, you can decrypt it.

In fact, this is a question about SQL server, not Dynamics AX. Probably you can ask your question on the SQL server forum as well? social.msdn.microsoft.com/.../home

I also suggest to try to reach the developer first.

If you can't there are many articles and discussions online about decrypting SQL Server Stored procedures. Since it's not AX specific, instead it's a SQL Server thing, you should look into SQL Server documentation, communities and articles.

    Hi Fahed,

If it's not an option to contact the original developer ,You could do it without a 3rd party tool but it's easier to use one.

There are many 3rd party tools to help you do that (ApexSQL Decrypt a free standalone tool,dbForge SQL Decryptor, RedGade Sql Prompt, RedGate Sql Compare...)

Always take Backup of your DB before attempting any method.

As I suggested above, dbForge and other 3rd party tools make it a lot easier to do this. Glad you fixed your problem.

    Hi Fahad,

Do you mind to verify the reply from Andre Ghazaleh where he suggested the third-party tools? The question will then get the status answered and people with the same question will be directed to the verified answer.
