XLIFF file: change default source language

Posted on by 260

Hi all,

is there a way to change default source language (when you build an app) on XLIFF file from en-US in another language? I would like to develop an app in a specific language and then to make a xlf file in en-US.

Thank you for your replies.

Yes, I've tried to use it for the translations and it works fine, but I would like to know if there is an automatically way to change default source language when the system create automatically App.g.xlf file after publish (or package) the app. Because everytime I must change the App.g.xlf file manually.

Hi, yes you can do it. I tried before. First you can find the standard translation packages in On-Premises installation package provided by Microsoft, then use it as translation source file.

You can try to change the "supported locals" setting in your app.json file

The order for the languages should define the default.

Anyhow it is best practice to always use English as your language when you do you BC development..

Thank you, but I just read the official documentation. I don't find any documentation about to change the source language. If I press CTRL+SHIFT+B the system creates always source language = en-US, but I would like to force this one with a specific language (automatically), if it's possible.
