Creating a proposal

Hello everyone, I have a question regarding creating proposals.  We have a proposal template that is in PDF format.  We'd like to export data from CRM into an Excel spreadsheet where we would be able to populate the PDF form (via AutoMailMerge or some other utility).  The problem is, some of the data comes from the Account, other parts from the Opportunity and the rest from the Opportunity Product (line items).  Is there an elegant way to extract all of this data from CRM into one spreadsheet that's fomratted appropriately?  So far, the best I can come up with is to export various views for Account, Opportunity and Opportunity Products and merge all of the data into one.  This requires a bit of manual work and we're shooting for a more automated approach that our sales team can use.  I'm new to CRM so maybe there's an obvious approach I'm just not seeing.

Any help is greatly appreaciated.

Cheers,

Erik
