GP 2013 SP2: Document Attach Delete

Posted on by

We are testing GP 2013 SP2's document attach feature before rolling it out and are having a problem.  We can attach a document and view it without issue.  The problem is when we try to delete it.  We can press the delete button which moves the attachment from the Active tab to the Deleted tab but how do you actually fully delete the document as it is still in the database when it is on the Deleted tab.

We thought we were on to it when we found the window here: GP Button > Tools > Utilities > Company > Delete Attachment Files ...... but no matter what date we put in, pressing the Delete button does nothing.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Yes, we were able to complete the deletions using the steps described.  We hadn't noticed the CO00104 and CO00105 references up until your question but having them in the database hasn't caused any reported issues.

    RCCHULUOTA,

Have you done successful deletions using the steps above? We are in a similiar situation and would like to remove some attachments from the database, for size reasons.

In addition to the CO00101 and CO00102, I see references on CO00104 and CO00105 to the attachments. Are there other tables you have encountered when trying to delete?

    Hi Everyone

Does anyone knows how to insert Image/PDF from SQL.If anyone has SQL Query please share .

As get most of AP invoices 3000 to 5000 and using Integration Manager we load invoice but no option of PDF/Doc attachment in IM. Only way to bulk insert as manually will be more difficult and time consuming.

If anyone has SQL Query for inserting PDF . Please share the same.

    Thanks

    Amit

Interesting that there isn't a way to hard delete them through the GUI but that was the information I was looking for.  Thanks so much!

    Hi,

Once an attachment is deleted it is moved to Deleted tab and there is no way user can delete it from there, except using SQL Server.

"Document Attachment File Utility" which you told only deletes the attachments from the BLOB table if there are no links available to it in any of the tables.

So, now if you want to clear the deleted attachments from the database you can go ahead and execute the delete statements on CO00101 and CO00102 tables based on the records you want to remove. Please be sure to take a backup before deleting the records.

    Thanks,

    Appasaheb

Dynamics GP deals with attachment with a status flag (Attached, Deleted). Once you delete an attachment, you will get the status updated for the same document.

On the other hand, I still can't tell about the "Document Attachment File Utility". Further testing is being applied.
