Hi,

I am looking for a solution that handles equipment rental. Usually those equipment are fixed Assets.

However we need to use them for rental, (2) we need to track their locations when dispatched to clients.

I am looking to avoid manual processes, where I have to create for every FA item, 2 released products records , one for the rental of the equipment and another one for the equipment itself to track the location using inventory transfers...

Hello Sam,

For equipment rental there are specialized ISV solutions available.

See e.g. www.to-increase.com/.../machinery-and-equipment

I would recommend going for this solution that is proven and tested in many customer application compared to a scenario where you want to try using workarounds in the standard solution.

Those workarounds might work fine but usually experience issues when you have to deal with a lot of equipment that you want to rent out and follow up.

Hi Sam,

Rental processes usually include a lot of other requirements such as rental pricing logic (best pricing), recurring billing logic or workshops & service on rental return.

Another ISV that is proven in the market is Sycor.Rental: sycor-group.com/.../rental.html
