Default Inventory Site ID on SOP document

Posted on by 80

I'm trying to figure out if there is a way for the system to always use the default site ID from the item record on every sales line that is added, rather than the default SIte ID of the header SOP document.  Any ideas?

I may be a little late to the thread, but this tool is no longer supported by Microsoft and there was an issue with it. Per Microsoft:

This customization used to be listed on our site as a free tool available for download.  Unfortunately it is no longer available for download and we do not give this out anymore as it was known to cause some issues, if this is something your or the customer wants, Jovaco can build it for the customer. ( i reached out to them about this and they're not taking new customers)

Our staff is not doing advisory work anymore in regards to these types of customizations, nor creating tools for free, so we will not be fixing this and re-deploying it.

Here was the issue with it:

SOP Default per Site Line tool is not working as expected for GP2013.  Whenever two items with the same default sites are used in a row, the Site ID on the Sales line defaults using the Default Site ID from the header in the Sales Transaction Entry window.  It should be using the Default Site listed on the Item Quantities Maintenance window.

    Hope this helps others.

The most current version of this I have is for 2013. I just installed my 2013 cnk on my 2016R2 installation and it doesn't look like it's working. You should be able to put in a support request to Microsoft to ask for the tool. Support requests such as those are not supposed to be chargeable.

    Kind regards,

I realize this post is old, but I have a client on GP 2016 with the same issue.  They are changing warehouses and I'm looking for an easy way to specify default site for SOP by item.  That way when they are in the transition period and they've got Item A at the old site and Item B in the new site, they can import an order with Item A and Item B on it and regardless of the default site set up at the header level, GP will know to sell Item A from the old site and Item B from the new site.

It sounds like the tool Leslie mentioned would be perfect, but I can't find it so I'm worried it doesn't exist anymore.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

that is what it looks like that you need to request that cnk through your partner of may get directly from customer source

    Hi Syed,

You mean I need to install separate CNK for GP 2013 R2 in order to get this.  Thanks for your reply.

the cnk Leslie is talking about is not part of the official PSTL but a separate cnk

    Leslie,

Good morning and how are you doing.  I know its a old post but I am having the same situation where I wanted to default the site of each line item from items default site ID.  I went to PSTL tool but i am not able to find the SOP Default Per Site Line.  Following is my PSTL tool screen shot, what I am missing.  I seen a post there some of the PSTL is available on request but not sure who to request :-).

    Hi

Will the old software not work with the GP2015 version? This was a separate chunk file, it wasn't part of the official PSTL Tool. Check with Willoware Software, they might have something.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

It seems that this is not available any more in GP2015 PSTL version.

    Any other workarounds?
