Management Reporter Error - Currency USD does not exist for company xxx. No values will be returned.

Hi!

We just upgraded to Management Reporter CU9 and was using the Legacy connection but now just implemented the Data Mart.  We can still run reports and get data with the Legacy setup but when we try to pull data using the Data Mart, we receive "Currency USD does not exist for company xxx.  No values will be returned."  We have removed and rebuilt the Data Mart with no success. We are not using Multicurrency but did make sure we have a Functional Currency and ISO Code set up.

Looking for other things that we need to check.

Thank you!

Karl

Have you tried the fix in this KB?

Yes but there were no changes necessary.  Everything was set up and the Currency ID matches.

Please run Check Links against the Multicurrency files. You will likely see some activity resembling the following:

    Transaction Amounts Work

The currency ID for existing transactions has been updated to the functional currency.

We upgraded to GP 2013 R2 and I ran the Check Links on all the Multicurrency files.  It did display some error messages stating that our AR transactions were updated with the currently.  Tried re-running the financials and now have a different error:  Change tracking is not enabled for the following tables: SY01500.  To enable incremental reading of data, reconfigure change tracking in the Configuration Console.

I went into MR and ran the change tracking process there but it didn't work.

We might just delete the MR database and re-built it at this point.  Still open to suggestions if anyone has any.

Management Reporter 2012 uses SQL Server Change Tracking to ensure that all transactions are integrated from Microsoft Dynamics GP to the Management Reporter data mart. SQL Server Change tracking is turned on with a retention setting of three days by default. If the Management Reporter data mart integration is disabled for more than three days while transactions are posted in Microsoft Dynamics GP, you might want to reset your data mart to ensure that no data was missed. During the upgrade process, the Configuration Console enables SQL Server Change Tracking. You might be prompted to provided credentials that have sufficient permissions to enable SQL Server Change Tracking, such as a user with a role of db_owner or a system administrator.Note: The Microsoft Dynamics GP ERP Integration user account is modified to include the View

Change Tracking permission to read the change tracking tables in Microsoft Dynamics GP.

For more information, see “How to: Use SQL Server Change Tracking” on MSDN (msdn.microsoft.com/.../cc305322.aspx)

    and “Change Tracking” on MSDN

    (msdn.microsoft.com/.../cc280462(v=SQL.105).aspx).

Note: When a new company is added, or when Analytical Accounting is activated for an existing company in Microsoft Dynamics GP, Change Tracking must be reconfigured. In the Configuration Console for Management Reporter select Reconfigure Change Tracking.

I am pretty sure that rebuilding your data mart would have the same effect, but you may try using the configuration console option first.

Yes, I went through the exact same thing. You do have to delete the MR 2012 Data Mart database and then set it up again. I was told this by MS Dynamics support. There are certain steps you need to go through though.......

Let me see if I can find them for you.....

If this error has been occurring for more than 3 days, then SQL no longer has a full record of all changes in Dynamics GP that need to be synchronized to the data mart database. Even if the issue has only occurred for a day, you can use the steps below to re-create the data mart. To fix the issue currently encountered, you will want to re-create the data mart database. To do this, use the steps below:

***All steps must be completed by a domain user assigned to the "Administrator" role in Management Reporter Security who is also a member of the local Administrators group on the server ***

    a. Open the Management Reporter Configuration Console.

    b.  Click on the GP integration under ERP integrations

    c. Click Disable Integration

    d.  Click Remove in the upper-right corner to get rid of the integration

    e. Exit the Configuration Console

    f. Open SQL Server Management Studio

    g. Backup the Management Reporter database

    h. Backup the data mart (usually DDM or ManagementReporterDM) database

    i. Delete the data mart database

    j. Open the Configuration Console

    k. Stop the Management Reporter 2012 Process Service.

    l. Stop the Management Reporter 2012 Application Service.

    m. Start the Management Reporter 2012 Application Service.

    n. Start the Management Reporter 2012 Process Service.

    o. Go to File | Configure

    p. Choose "Add Microsoft Dynamics GP Data Mart"

    q. Follow the steps for the Dynamics GP provider at:

Microsoft Management Reporter: Installation, Migration, and Configuration Guides

    www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx;id=5916

    r. When finished, be sure to click the "Enable Integration" button in the Configuration Console

    s. Also be sure to fill out the "Notification Settings" section in the Configuration Console. This will send an email to the address entered when an issue occurs with the data mart. Without this populated, nobody will be aware of when an error happens with the data mart tasks and reports could possibly show incorrect balances.

If you do make changes to a Dynamics GP company in the future (such as creating a new company, or enabling AA for the first time), you can prevent the need for re-creating the data mart by opening the Configuration Console and clicking the "Reconfigure Change Tracking" option. I attached the CU9 GP provider guide for your reference.

Also note that Management Reporter 2012 CU10 may change some items as there are new features planned for how companies are integrated. More information on this is beyond the scope of this case, but will be released with CU10, due out in August/September 2014.
