In std FO PMA -> we are using Projects & Controlling costs - with below setup:
- Total Year Budget control interval
- Disallow overruns
- Costs controlled.
- Commitments generated at PO confirmation
Consider below steps:
1. Creating a Project, entering a Budget and Approving it in 2025 (allocation budget for 2025) - for ex. 10 000 USD.
2. Create and confirm a PO in 2025 - in value of 3 000 USD => Budget balance will show Commitment in value of 3 000 and Remaining 7 000
3. New year 2026 comes and I need to register the PO invoice -> if I keep all dates in 2026 - Budget exceed error message is generated as I have not yet entered any budget for 2026
4. I run the Carry forward process for this project and it carries 7 000 USD from 2025 into 2026
5. I try again to invoice the PO and all dates in 2026 -> Posting is successfull -> Budget balance for 2026 shows: Consumed 3 000 and Remaining 4 000 USD / Budget balance for 2025 shows Available 3 000 - from the commitment that was released at the time of PO invoice;
6. I have to run one more time the Carry forward process to move the remaining 3 000 into 2026.
My question now is: are there any parameters in the system that can drive the PO invoice to be posted in 2026 and consume from the related commitment done in 2025?
