Not possible to sort view on Swedish/Scandinavian characters?

Posted on by 338
I work with two different clients who use D365.

When looking at f.e the /Active Accounts/ view in both environments they both show the swedish
characters Å, Ä and Ö in the bottom, lastly as they should be.

In one environment everything shows correctly. Accounts that start with f.e /Ö/ show up when clicking that
letter in the bottom of the view.

In the other environment nothing shows up when clicking Å, Ä or Ö. Instead, accounts starting with
Å or Ä show up under A and accounts starting with Ö show up under O. Thus, Å and Ä are treated
like A and Ö is treated like O.

Both environments use Swedish as language for the interface, however, the environment
where the sorting works correctly has Swedish as /Base language/ whereas the other one has English
as base language.

Surely, sorting should work anyways? Is there some other setting that controls this?
Thx

Not possible to sort view on Swedish/Scandinavian characters?
    Hi,

My base language is also set to English, and the base language cannot be changed once it is set.
So I changed the other two language options, unfortunately, they did nothing for sorting, sorting still only works for English.
But this makes sense because the User Interface Language setting and Help Language setting only change the language of the display, there are no changes to the logic at the code level.

I suggest you raise a support ticket with Microsoft asking the developers if there is a way to change the base language:
