Real Time Marketing Journey with Outbound Segment for Email - Does Deduplication Still Work?

I am aware of the default setting for deduplication in D365 Marketing, but does it deduplicate Contacts receiving emails in a Real Time Journey using an Outbound Segment?  I assume it does, I believe it is just a trigger-based journey that would not deduplicate automatically (which is good).

Can you confirm?
