Unable to see activity feed on Account on 'new look' for model driven apps

When looking at the 'activities' tab on an account record, I am able to see a list of the activites,:
However when a different user who is using the 'new look' feature, they then cannot see any activities. So what is different with this 'new look' that now means activities cannot be seen here?

    This is the default filter for the Closed Activities view on the Activities table:
    The issue is unlikely to be caused by the view filter. I suspect that you and the other user have different security roles and this is causing the Activity record visibility difference.
