The company I work for has recently added the invoicing module but it appears to be primarily product sales oriented. Is there a way to make this work for "room & board" invoicing?

Hi Bev
Absolutely. The key is that it links into GP Inventory items. Just think of the Inventory items as being a way to group like things together and ease data entry - rather than what you have sitting on the shelf. Most of my clients who use Invoicing or SOP are service based rather than products based.
You set your inventory item up with an Inventory type of Service instead of Sales Inventory. Then use those items in your Invoicing transaction.
The beauty about using the item cards is that it is very easy to get consistent reporting about the items you sell - regardless of whether stock or service.
Have a play with setting up an item with a service type and go from there. It may be worth you doing a short training session with your GP partner on how the items are set up and to get your started.
Hope that helps.
Cheers
Heather
